ARE THERE YOUTH CHAPTERS IN FREEDOM FORCE?

Youth chapters are a great idea, but their implementation is not what one might first expect. One of the strategies of Freedom Force is, not to lead the masses directly, but to accomplish that indirectly by leading the organizations that lead the masses. This is because there is such a wide range of interests among the general public that no one organization can hope to appear relevant to everyone. So our method is to provide leadership in a wide variety of organizations, each with its own agenda, so that, when they are all added together, we can influence public policy across the board.

When it comes to a movement that will be relevant to young people, we encourage them to become regular members of Freedom Force and associate with others of like mind, regardless of age. Then they can enlist the support of other members in their own age group to either become influential in an existing young-person's organization or to create one of their own. One possibility would be to establish a local branch of the Freedom Virus Network, an organization that would focus on issues of special interest to students. However, young members will probably need help and guidance with all of this, and that is why it is important for them to be tied in with a few older folks who have had organizational experience and who also may be able to provide a financial assistance.

There is no minimum age for membership in Freedom Force. The only requirement is that each person must be old enough to read and understand The Future is Calling and agree to abide by The Creed of Freedom.

Teen-agers and young adults with an interest in this type of activity should work out the details with their chapter president. If a chapter is not yet functioning in their community, they should indicate on their enrollment form that they are interested in youth activities. In that event, we will do our best to provide assistance and guidance from headquarters.
